Governance
How Fariji is governed.
Fariji DT Sacco is governed by its members. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the supreme authority — every member has an equal vote in electing the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. The Board sets policy and strategic direction, while the Management Team implements decisions day to day.
This structure, mandated by the Cooperative Societies Act and overseen by SASRA, ensures that the SACCO remains accountable to those it serves: its 10,000+ members across Kiambu County.
Annual General Meeting
Supreme authority. Every active member has a vote. Elects the Board and approves financial statements annually.
Board of Directors
Sets policy, approves budgets, and provides strategic oversight. Elected by members for 3-year terms.
Supervisory Committee
Independent oversight body. Reviews internal controls and reports directly to the AGM.
Management Team
Professional staff responsible for day-to-day operations, loan processing, and member services.
Elected Leadership

Independent Oversight
Supervisory Committee.
The Supervisory Committee provides independent oversight of Fariji's internal controls, accounts, and compliance. It reports directly to the AGM.
