Our Journey
Four decades of
milestones.
From a small cooperative in Githunguri to the leading SACCO in Kiambu County — here is the story of Fariji.
The Beginning
Fariji Sacco started in the year 1989 as a self-help group in Kagwe Catholic Church with the aim of improving the welfare and livelihood of its members and the society at large through mobilization of saving and offering credit. In those days, members would contribute Kes 20/= every Sunday and through pooling of funds the welfare would in turn lend at low interest rates.
Open To Every Member
Seeing the impact it brought to the society the welfare grew significantly and in the year 2001, it was registered as a saving and Credit Cooperative Society. Since then, we opened the common bond to every member of the community, modernized our service delivery and developed products and services that suits our customers
